Cincinnati Veterinarian Liz Gigis

Dr. Elizabeth Gigis’ goal in life was always to become a veterinarian. She is an Ohio native and has been working in the veterinary field for over 19 years. She graduated from the Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graduation, Liz moved to Arizona and managed an emergency, medical, and surgical veterinary center.

She is now the Senior Veterinarian and owner of West Chester Veterinary Center. Liz is a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association, and the Veterinary Information Network. 

Liz has two sons and two dogs.

Meet Dr. Jennifer Malcolm, veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Malcolm grew up in Cincinnati, but traveled overseas to Scotland to attend veterinary school. She has a B.V.M.S. (Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine and
Surgery) from University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, and holds a M.R.C.V.S. (Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons). 

She has always had a love for medicine and animals, and becoming a veterinarian was a life-long dream. Dr. Jen is enthusiastic about continuing education opportunities and constantly stays up-to-date on the most current research.  Dr. Jen's areas of interest include internal medicine, Dermatology and behavior. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Information Network.

In her free time, Dr. Jen enjoys spending time with her husband, Tony, and son, Diesel. They have two cats (Stink and Mouse) and one dog named Turtle.

Meet Dr. Regina Krendl, veterinarian

Dr. Regina Krendl graduated from the Ohio State University in 2010. Her interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. Dr. Krendl is always working to expand her knowlege base and is focused on cultivating a trusting relationship with all clients.

Dr. Krendl was the valedictorian of her high school and an All-American Collegiate Athlete. She has been working in the field of veterinary medicine for three years. Dr. Krendl has a broad background in veterinary medicine. This background includes working on projects dealing with cancer research, serving as student liason for two national veterinary corporations, and traveling to Spain to volunteer at a large animal shelter. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Krendl and her husband are excited to be new parents of a baby boy. In her spare time Dr. Krendl enjoys soccer, dance, horseback riding, reading and traveling. She also has two lovable Australian Shepherds.

Veterinarian Karla BlackmoreDr. Karla Blackmore is a 2005 graduate of Ross University in St. Kitts.  She has experience in emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.  

Dr Blackmore is a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She has a special interest in Veterinary Acupuncture. 

She lives at home with her husband, two daughters and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and crafting. 

Meet Dr. Jessica Wells, Veterinarian Dr. Jessica Wells is a 2014 graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  She also has a masters degree in public health from Ohio State. She is interested in soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and zoonotic diseases.  

Dr Wells is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, and the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association.

In her spare time, she loves hiking, camping and spending time with husband, Scott. She has two cats, Moose and Birdie.

ohio vet technician Kelly Smith is a Vet Center Office Manager. Kelly was a founding member of our practice and floats through the hospital helping with every aspect of our day. 

Kelly is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Life Science. She is currently pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine. She comes with seven years of experience as a veterinary assistant.

Kelly has a twin, Megan, who lives in Seattle WA. In her spare time, she likes volunteering at a therapeutic riding center, riding horses. Kelly has a Pomeranian named Hope, a boxer mix named Willow and a Quarter Horse named Rolo, shown here. 

west chester vetKelly is our lead Registered Veterinary Technician.  She is a motivated, well-rounded and hard-working Animal Care Nurse. 

She graduated in 2010 with her bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. She has two extra years of training the veterinary field above a regular veterinary technician (nurse) degree. She has many years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery.  Kelly is focused on making sure your pet receives optimal care during their stay in our hospital.

Kelly enjoys spending time with her five pets Tucker a high-energy Golden Retriever, Snickers a rescue Australian Shepard mix, and her three kitties Sammy, Pockets and Crystal. Kelly loves living at home with her husband and her daughter out in the country.
 

Meet Meagan Stears, RVTMegan is a Registered Veterinary Technican. She has been with our veterinary clinic since opening.  

Megan started here as a front desk receptionist and became a registered veterinary technician three years ago. She is a graduate of Browne Mackie College of Veterinary Technology.

Megan loves being a veterinary nurse because she gets to spend time with animals.

In her spare time, she is currently planning a wedding and she loves to read.

Christy is one of our awesome RVTs/Veterinary Nurses. 

Christy grew up in Ohio, but went to Michigan State University for college. She graduated from MSU in Veterinary Technology in 2000 after working at the teaching hospital as a receptionist and deciding she didn't like seeing all the animals go by and not being able to help them more directly.

She moved back to Ohio after graduation and worked several jobs before realizing that she really loves the setting of a general practice. She finds the long term contact with the clients and their pets the most rewarding - helping with client education and being able to directly assist in the care of their animals.

She has a wonderful husband and two fur children that are absolutely not spoiled at all.

Nancy west chester ohio dog grooming vet technicianOriginally from Maryland, Nancy has worked as a veterinary technician, groomer and wildlife rehabilitator for over 25 years.

Nancy came to West Chester Veterinary Center in December 2009 and has worked in all areas of the hospital. Nancy’s obvious love and compassion for animals lends calming sense of security to each pet she cares for. 

Nancy currently resides in Butler County with her miniature poodle Charlie, Chihuahua Chuppie, and her pet skunk Snickers. 

west chester oh vet,  Meet Rachael KirikRachael Kirik comes to us from Virginia Beach, VA as a Veterinary Technician. She studied at the Greater Lakes Institute of Technology in Pennsylvania and has an extensive background with both small and large animals. Her fondness, however, lies with horses. 

In her free time, Rachael enjoys riding her horse, Buck, spending time with her husband, Grant, and raising their children, Olivia and Owen. She has a Siberian Husky named Diesel and an English Mastiff named Bailey.

Meet Emily WilliamsEmily is a Veterinary Technician at our center. 

She is a 2013 graduate of Bradford Veterinary Technician Institute. 

She enjoys helping animals and owners achieve a positive outcome, in whatever it is they are trying to accomplish.

She volunteers at the Red Wolf Animal Sanctuary in Indiana in her spare time.

West Chester Vet, Meet Jennifer BaileyJennifer Bailey our Reception Manager, and an Assistant Veterinary Technician.

Jen began working with us in February 2012. Since coming aboard - Jen has helped with receptionist duties, caring for our boarding visitors, and has grown professionally in the veterinary techniian field.  

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and a minor in Wildlife/ Fishery Studies from Penn State University. She is still exploring her future career options, but would like to remain in the animal field and focus on exotics of some variety.

Jen likes to play with her puppy named Dixie. She also enjoys reading and going to the movies.

Meet Tony Gant - Vet Assistant and kennel boarding tehnician

Tony Gant is a Veterinary Technician at our center.  Tony assists the staff veterinarians in providing top medical care and attention to the healing pets.  Tony stays close to the patients in post-op, monitoring their condition, to to ensure a successful procedure. 

Tony is a graduate of University of Findlay, with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, Pre - Vet, and Animal Sciences. 

Tony started at WC Vet Center as a kennel technician in 2012. We have watched him grow in the animal medicine industry, and be able to take on more complicated assignments. 

After taking care of sick animals all day long - his joy is heading home to play with Mowgli, his dog.

 

Meet Kristen McDonald, receptionistKristen is one of our friendly receptionists. She enjoys greeting and taking time with our clients.  

Kristen has a Bachelor's in Psychology and a minor in Substance Abuse Counseling from the University of Cincinnati, graduating with honors.

After spending a few years volunteering at Animal Friend's Humane Society - Kristen decided to follow her passion of working with animals and pursue a degree as a veterinary technician.

"I love my job and love my coworkers and can't wait to graduate and continue my career in the veterinary field. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats at home, and engaged!"

Meet Cailla NelsonCailla is a Veterinary Technician Assistant at WC Vet.  She's eager to provide top notch veterinary care for all of our patients. Having started here as a receptionist - it is awesome to see her grow in her career here. 

Caila is a student at Miami University studying zoology.  

She lives in Hamilton with her cat and a dog.  In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding. 

 

Meet Caitlyn RobbCaitlyn is one of our receptionists.  She loves meeting the dogs and cats who come in for their visits.

Caitlyn has a dog named Muffin, and 3 cats, Cash, Moose, and JellyBean.

Her favorite things to do including play time with her fur babies, taking time to read, and hang out with her family.

 

Meet Bailey Guerin, ReceptionistBailey is one of our lovely receptionists. She has been a member of our staff since May 2014.

She just recently graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Bailey would like to pursue her Masters degree in Genetics and Biology from Wright State university.

In her spare time she likes to spend time with her 2 dogs, Komet and Cooper, and her cat Kiki. Bailey also enjoys riding horses.

veterinary center technician Kelly Bunn is one of our newer kennel technicians. She takes pride in making sure all of our boarding pets are well cared for while you are away. Kelly is currently attending the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash to get her degree in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her pets. Kelly has two dogs, a rabbit, and a kitten.

west chester ohio veterinary centerShae McGuire is originally from Cleveland, Shae studied biology at Wright State University. She has worked with a wide range of exotic and aquatic animals in Texas and Kentucky before joining the West Chester Veterinary Center as a receptionist in July, 2016. 

Shae has a special interest in conservation, wildlife management, and operant conditioning training. She volunteers at the Cincinnati Zoo year round.

Shae has two cats named Otie and Rumpke and an ever changing array of reptiles.  

West Chester Ohio Veterinary Center staffDee Carter – is one of our receptionists. She started working here as a kennel technician in July of 2015. 

She is a graduate of Hocking College with a degree in Equine Health & Complementary Therapies.

Dee and her husband have 3 dogs, an Akita, an Australian Shepherd/Husky mix, and a Cairn terrier mix, as well as 2 cats. She adores the Akita breed and loves spending time with her family and horseback riding.

She is a senior in high school and plans to study pre-veterinary medicine. She spends her free time playing with her dog, Palmer, and staying active with sports.

Meet Mr. Chip, Customer Service Manager, veterinary center catMr Chip came to our facility as a Cat with no name... He was found in a field, and ran into the car! It was fate! The identification chip said merely "Chip detected". So we said Hello, Mr Chip!

Everyone loves Chip. He's the Vet Center Mascot, and Customer Service Manager. Such a friendly little man. Chip's handy too! Quick to grab a pen at the front desk, or thermometer in the exam room. Couldn't ask for better support!
